Description of the Live-out Governess job offer in Dubai, UAE

Family based in Palm Jumeirah, Dubai. They are looking for a qualified and professional Governess Finnish speaker to take care of their 2 years old daughter.

Duties and responsibilities

• Organizing educational activities that encourage creativity, imagination and social development and expect the governess to be able to apply various educational systems, for example Montessori and Glenn Domann philosophies.
• It’s important that she speak Finnish language because the family is Tri lingual, mother speaks Russian to the daughter, parents speak English between each other, and father speaks Finnish to daughter. And she is most fluent in Russian and second most in English, and they will need more support in Finnish language.
• Ensuring that children follow a routine that allows for homework and educational activities.
• Planning and implementing age-appropriate educational activities.
• Teaching specialised subjects: language, STEM subjects, music or art, for example.
• Teaching manners, etiquette and right code of conduct as approved by the Family.
• Helping children develop basic life skills, such as independence, confidence, and social skills.
• Encouraging children to behave appropriately.
• Organising fun and educational outings for children.
• Communicating with parents regarding children’s growth and education.
• Keeping children’s play or study areas clean and organised.
• Administering basic first aid, if necessary.
• Preparing meals for the child while with the child.
• Cleaning up after the child while with the child.

Profile requirement

• 5 years' experience working as Governess in a similar post long term with references.
• English - Finnish speaking.
• Qualification in Childcare, Safety & Education.
• Dynamic, friendly yet professional person with kind and honest attributes who values the discretion required.
• Playing a vital role in actively supporting the family through a highly engaged and involved parenting approach.
• Assessment of performance will rely on the degree of collaboration and teamwork.

Job Conditions

• ​Type of contract: Part Time - one Year Contract.
• Working hours: will consist of three mornings each week, with the remaining evenings available for up to 30 hours in total. Of these hours, 20 will be during the daytime, and 10 will involve monitoring cameras in the evenings while parents may be away.
• Live-out position.
• Flight ticket, visa, and medical insurance will be provided.
• ​Available for immediate joining.

Governess Salary

AED 12 000 net a month so 3 100 euros a month for a part time role
