We are currently in search of an exceptionally experienced and qualified Nanny/Housekeeper (M/F) with specialized expertise in caring for children with autism, to join our family in Swanage, Dorset, UK.
The ideal candidate will be looking after 3 children, G3, G5, B5 (B5 has autism)
The role necessitates a minimum of 5 years of prior nanny experience, with a proven track record of providing compassionate care, maintaining a secure and nurturing environment, and supporting the developmental needs of children with autism.
Alongside outstanding childcare abilities, the candidate must hold professional childcare qualifications, top nanny certifications, and a valid first aid certification.
Additionally, a clear Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is a prerequisite.

Vacancy duties and responsibilities
- Offer thorough care and support to three children aged 3, 5, and 5, encompassing aid with daily activities, sensory integration, and behavior guidance.
- Develop a structured and captivating environment, fostering the growth and welfare of a child with autism, by integrating therapeutic activities and learning through play.
- Execute personalized care plans and employ strategies endorsed by therapists and healthcare professionals to address the distinct requirements of B5 and his siblings, while also tailoring an individualized approach for each child within the family.
- Cultivate a caring and supportive bond with the children, encouraging trust, a sense of security, and emotional equilibrium.
- Arrange and coordinate activities, outings, and educational experiences suitable for each child's age to enrich their social, cognitive, and physical development.
- Provide childcare on a flexible schedule, including a few days a week, some weekends, and a few days during school holidays, while also attending to housekeeping responsibilities during non-childcare hours. For example, every Wednesday after school and alternative weekends as Nanny (e.g. 30% as Nanny and 70% Housekeeper) with the view of increasing it to 7 days as Nanny (with Children staying with their father), 7 days as Housekeeper primarily whilst the children are with their mother (50% as Nanny and 50% as Housekeeper).
- Flexibility is essential due to changing plans and schedules of the family.
- Keep the household environment clean, orderly, and secure, which involves light housekeeping tasks like tidying children's play spaces, doing laundry, preparing meals, and occasionally purchasing groceries.
- A professional cleaner attends to deep cleaning duties thrice weekly. The Housekeeper will coordinate with the cleaner to divide and collaborate on tasks to uphold the household's upkeep.
- Collaborate effectively with the parent, therapists, and other caregivers to ensure consistency in care and implementation of strategies to support the children's progress.
- Be able to administer first aid as needed and respond promptly to medical emergencies, following established protocols and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times, respecting the privacy and dignity of the family and children in your care.
- Stay informed about best practices and advancements in autism care and child development, continuously seeking opportunities for professional development and growth.
Profile requirement
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a nanny, with a focus on caring for children with autism.
- Professional qualifications in childcare, such as a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator) or equivalent.
- Top nanny certifications, such as CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (NNEB), Montessori Diploma, or equivalent highly preferred.
- Valid certification in pediatric first aid. DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance.
- Proven experience and understanding of autism spectrum disorders, with knowledge of effective strategies for supporting children with autism.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and other caregivers.
- Patience, empathy, and adaptability in responding to the individual needs and preferences of children with autism.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise responsibilities effectively.
- A genuine passion for working with children and a commitment to providing highquality care and support.
