A young professional family with 2 girls (7 y.o. and 9 y.o.) based in Midrand, Johannesburg, South Africa are looking to employ a live-out Au Pair for their two active children, who would assist with childcare duties, educational activities and school runs. The ideal candidates will be team players who are able to organise their time, have her own reliable vehicle and valid driver’s licence.
The position will be live-out with hours from School pick-up at 13:00 to 18:00 from Monday to Friday. Employers will provide travel allowances for work use.

Vacancy duties and responsibilities
- Midday to early evening schedule.
- Scheduling and doing school pick-up run and all after-school activities and extra murals.
- Preparing the lunch boxes for both girls on the day before for the next day.
- Preparing healthy lunch & snacks for the girls for after school.
- Supervise, advise and assist with homework & projects. (keeping record of due dates etc)
- Creating a creative, fun schedule for activities & outings during school holidays.
- Run errands for the family including grocery shopping.
- Supervise bath time _ ensuring overall hygiene (i.e hair is washed, nails clipped etc)
- Ensure all school bags are ready and packed for the next day’s schedule (sport clothing etc)
- Babysitting duties on occasion when pre-arranged
- Encouraging creativity, imagination and social development
- Caring for physical and mental health: includes looking after the children when sick, supervising administration of medicine (agreed with parents), visits to the doctor, listening to them etc.
- Organising fun, educational activities on a weekly basis _ keeping track of birthday invitations, gift purchases within budget etc.
- Preparing and organising for special occasions, such as birthdays, Christmas etc.
- Preparing luggage and toys for travelling
- Establishing and maintaining good communications with parents at all times _ A diary will be kept and shared with parents for perusal every evening.
- Respecting and adapting to parental preferences and needs in regards to discipline, routines, activities and living or travel arrangements
Profil requirement
- Previous experience working with children _ with a qualification in the field (minimum requirement is a certificate for childcare)
