Live-in Nanny Job offer in Ekali, Athens, Greece description
An experienced Nanny native Greek speaker with fluent English is required for a family living in Ekali, Athens, Greece. The family have two children, a 10 year old girl & 2 year old boy (he will be 3 in August). They are also expecting a new baby, who will be born in October. For this reason the nanny would need to have experience taking care of two young children (newborn & toddler) together. The 10 year old doesn’t need taking care of really, but it is important that she has a good relationship with the nanny too and can have fun times together.
The role is primarily as a nanny, but there would also be some help with very light housekeeping, ie. helping to tidy the kitchen & loading dishwasher in the evening when I am finished cooking/kids have eaten, helping with unloading and reloading dishwasher in the morning, helping with kids breakfast etc. There would be no heavy cleaning or laundry, as the family have a full time live out couple who comes every day for that. The housekeeper takes care of the house in general, but the nanny would need to be flexible in terms of being happy to help out in the kitchen, as described.
The client is a stay at home mum, but she is also running a business with her husband from home (and also their office which is close by to the house), so the nanny would have to be happy to be in sole charge of the children and also shared care with the mother.

Vacancy duties and responsibilities
- Helping with the children’s breakfast in the morning
- Looking after the the little one(s) when the mother does the school run and when she is working
- Helping to instill schedules for the baby
- Creative play
- Outside play
- Preparing meals for the children when the mother is working
- Putting kids for naps during the day
- Looking after the boy & new baby alone when the mother is working or together when she is not
- Keeping the children’s areas tidy
- Cleaning& sterilising of baby bottles etc
- Helping with the children's dinner/bath/bedtime routines
- Cleaning/tidying kitchen at end of the day
- Travelling with the family (approximately 6-12 weeks per year, usually during all school holidays
Profil requirement
- Strong command of the English language & native Greek speaker
- Minimum 3 years experience
- Non smoker
- Preferably live in but could be live out under certain circumstances. (Ie. proximity to the house, driving & not relying on public transport etc)
- Good references from both current & previous employers
- Able to care for and be comfortable supervising multiple young children
- Experience with infant care
- Fun & creative care of the children
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of general first aid, and current certification in CPR (both infant & child)
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Positive & flexible attitude, able to help out when needed
- Good organisational skills, with ability to multi task
- Strong swimmer
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed. Baby sitting will be required, usually 1-2 evenings a week
- Valid passport, flexibility to travel with the family regularly
- Greek or EU passport, or valid work permit for Greece
- Dog friendly
Job Conditions
Schedule: 5 days per week, 12 hours per day (Tuesday-Saturday). Baby sitting will be required, usually 1-2 evenings a week.
Accommodation: A private bedroom with a bathroom and own kitchen.
