Job description

Our client, a loving family based in Mauritius, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Live-In Nanny to provide exceptional care for their 1-year-old son while ensuring a well-managed household.

The family values professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail, making previous experience in similar roles essential.

Responsibilities

Provide nurturing, hands-on care for the 1-year-old, including engaging in play, educational activities, and interactive experiences.
These should be outdoors focused and active. Screentime should be limited to very occasional educational activities only once age appropriate
Provide parenting guidance to the parents based on best practices in child development and child psychology and be available as a resource when called upon by the family.
Organise and run small baby play groups with the network of similar aged children from the neighbourhood.
Keeping up to date with latest literature on child development/psychology from time to time during downtime when on duty.
Maintain the child’s living areas, including tidying the bedroom, organising toys, and ensuring cleanliness.
Support the child’s developmental milestones through age-appropriate learning activities.
Assist with light housekeeping tasks related to the child (e.g. cleaning up after meals, tidying toys, preparing putting away day and travel bags).
Be available for travel with the family and provide care during outings.
Adapt to a flexible schedule, including some evenings and every Sunday.
Assist with bathing, changing, feeding and other hygiene and health matters.
Collaborate with the family's Mauritian Nannies, and train them in childcare.
Work alongside the family’s chef, providing guidance on child-friendly nutrition and dietary requirements as needed and when appropriate.

Requirements

Fluent in English (spoken and written); knowledge of French is a plus.
Western passport holders are preferred (e.g., British, French, Australian, Filipino's candidates would need to have European passport) for easier visa processing.
Professional Qualifications: Training in early childhood education, parent coaching, and child psychology is highly advantageous.
Kind, caring, and mature with a genuine passion for childcare.
Relaxed and easy going attitude.
Trustworthy, discreet, and professional with strong organisational skills.
Holds excellent references from previous similar positions.
A valid driver’s license is required.

Work conditions

Start Date: January (flexible for the ideal candidate).
Accommodation: Fully furnished private living quarters provided.
Transportation: A car will be provided for personal and professional use.
